Our Purpose
This will evolve and change as folks join and ideas begin to flow. For a start I propose this "mission statement": Our purpose is to gather and freely share and document the descendants of the 3 Fish brothers that helped found Sandwich Massachusetts; John, Nathaniel and Jonathan. Also we will do the same for their ancestors with the goal of being the definitive guide to the Fish family. We will do this in a friendly and cooperative manner, even when we disagree, and focus on having fun and helping and meeting each other. If we have a disagreement over something (like which Nathaniel was who's son) I envision we can hold a friendly debate on the forum, look at the facts and see if we can all agree. If we can't, we should do it like the US Supreme court with a vote, the winning vote being what is put in our tree, but with the losing vote posting their position in the comments. That keeps the flow of ideas open as time passes in case more evidence becomes available.
